Ideas For A Stag Weekend
You’re the best man and you’ve been put in charge of organising the stag weekend. Need some ideas? Look no further than this ‘how to’ guide on planning the perfect stag weekend.
Firstly, you need to decide on a location for the stag weekend. Are you going to stay close to home? Do you want to visit another city in the UK? The choice is entirely up to you; however you need to bear a few things in mind.
- The budget for the group – How much can people spend/are willing to spend?
- Work – Do people need to request time off? Are people able to have time off?
- Distance – Will people want to travel far from their families? Do they need to stay fairly close to home? (Illnesses, Child minding etc.)
All of these factors will have an input on where you decide to base the stag weekend.
Secondly, you need to choose what type of weekend it is going to be. Will it be an adrenaline
junkies dream? Or perhaps it will be a game
guru’s reverie? Maybe it will be booze, booze and more booze? You need to judge what idea will appeal the most to the stag.
If the groom is a big lover of outdoor activities, get kitted out in wetsuits and brave the water for white water rafting
. The stag will no doubt enjoy getting soaked as you paddle through the raging rapids. Not a fan of the water? Why not be trigger happy for the weekend – try clay pigeon shooting or paintballing. Clay pigeon shooting offers plenty of fun and will spark plenty of competition between the boys. Paintballing will see you at war with another team – perhaps a hen party – which will make the shoot-out twice as fun.
For a drinking weekend, head to a city in the UK which oozes with a vibrant nightlife. Crawl from bar to bar and sample the city’s local ales or for a more cultured approach, visit a local brewery. A stag weekend equivalent of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a brewery tour will allow you to sample various thirst quenching beers as a guide provides you with a tour.
Inject some laughter in your party with a game of It’s a Knockout. For those of you who don’t remember, the game was formerly a British comedy game show that was popular in the ‘70s and ‘80s. You can now experience the fun for real; think bouncy castles, giant costumes, buckets of water and lots of foam. If games are your stags forte, a game of It’s a Knockout is right up your street for the perfect stag weekend.
Hopefully these ideas will have helped you to organise a stag weekend that caters for stags needs.
